Not only does it free up space in your home lifestyle, it is safe and secure. Most self storage properties have video surveillance watching over your love one’s furniture storage. The storage unit is locked inside an enclosed gate. Gate access times vary, but many storage businesses are open 24 hours, 7 days a week.
 
There are many ways you can package a self storage unit as a gift. You can pay month to month or pay in advance. Ideally, you don’t want to pay for one month and then hand over the responsibility to someone else. Pay for at least a year in advance. Many self storage companies offer specials to those who pay in advance. Also, you are locked in on a price if the self storage business decides to raise the rent.
 
Do not just give a love a self storage unit by itself. They may take it as an insult, like giving someone a gym membership. Include your manpower. Offer to help with the moving process. You can clean the room in the house where furniture is being taken into storage. Rent the truck for them if you don’t have an adequate moving vehicle. Move furniture and boxes for them into the self storage unit. If they need more boxes and other moving supplies and shipping supplies, include those as part of the gift. So really, this is more gifts than just one. But you don’t want to give a present to someone that requires for the receiver to work or spend money.
 
If you are planning on using this idea, and you should, keep a few things in mind. The storage unit has to go in the name of the person present. You won’t be able to open a self storage account in someone else’s name. You will need your ID; it’s the law. But after you give the storage unit as a gift, you can have it transferred to your gift receiver’s name, if you want to. Have a good idea of how much space you’ll need to rent, because you are not just reserving space, you are reserving a specific unit size. Lastly, don’t see this as an opportunity to put your extra furniture in the storage unit too. It will appear as a gift really for you. If you need storage rent your own storage unit.
 
Again, Christmas is less than a week away, so hurry down to your local self storage business and rent a unit today. Storage units may not be going as fast as Tickle Me Elmos and Nintendo Wii Consoles, but availability is limited this time of the year.
