What is usually the first thing you ask a customer when you are trying to assist them with self storage? Most people would say that you ask them what size they are looking for. Most people have a great idea on what size storage unit they need. There are still many people who are unsure on which size they are in need of. When you helping a customer determine what size storage unit will work for them, think about their needs not the needs of your facility.

 

Finding the right storage unit for your needs is not always the easiest task. You have to know what exactly you are storing and whether or not you want to add to the storage unit later. By knowing what you need to store in your storage unit, you can ensure that you are not going to pay more than what you need. In this economy, you need to ensure that you get the right storage unit for the right price.

 

Of course, we all know that finding the right storage unit and deciding whether to rent that storage unit is not easiest decision. What is important to the facility and what are important to the customer might be two completely different things. The storage manager might have a great storage unit for the caller, but it is on the third floor of the building. Not all customers want to store their belongings on the third floor of the building. Even though the storage facility might have elevators that make the storage unit easily accessible, the customer might not want to go that high in the facility. Storage managers should take the time to find out what the customers needs are for a storage unit and ensure that they take care of them.

 

What else is important that the caller needs to know when looking for the right storage unit? Well, not all facilities are the same. Some have a great location in which the caller can drive up to and find. There are many customers out there that want to have a facility in which they can get in and out of with little issues. Most people have days that are busy and they need somewhere that will take up little time in their days.

 

In addition, a customer would love to have a facility in which they can see the value or renting a storage unit. Customers need to know what they are paying for in terms of the facility those houses their storage unit. They need to know about the security or other amenities that will keep their belongings secure. The property manager should be the one to ensure that the caller knows about their facility before giving out the price most of the time, so the caller can see what the facility has to offer in the way of a storage unit.

 

A customer would also want to know that when they call with an issue, there is always someone there that can help. Some storage facilities out there do not always have someone at the facility that can help when the caller needs assistance. Customer service could mean the difference between renting storage units or not.

 

There are many different things to look at when renting a storage unit. You and only you know what you need and what will make or break the deal to rent from a particular facility. The more you plan and research, the more money you will save when renting a storage unit.
