It is a bit cliché, but humans are like reptiles. We grow to the size of our environment. Do not become confused. This does not mean humans will grow to be as big as elephants if placed under the proper conditions. We are talking about storage space here. No matter how much storage space a house comes with, humans will find a way to fill it. And they are not aware that they do this. Humans do not knowingly go out of their way to fill up every storage space, nook, and cranny just because they can. It just happens. If you do not believe it just take a look at your own house. When you first moved in the storage space was impressive, right? But now you cannot fit another pair of socks into that walk-in closet. Remember when you use to be able to park your car in the garage? Somehow the garage become converted into storage space for furniture storage and storage containers. It is storage space for practically everything except for your vehicle storage.
So the big issue is how do we find more
storage space? Well, lets first look around the home. Many houses have guest rooms without any guests. But they are usually ready to offer hospitality on a moments notice. Come to your senses. If you have not had a guest that stayed the night in over five years, there is no reason to have a guest room. You can covert the guest room into a storage space. Keep the bed, but use the closets and the storage space underneath the bed to stash away some storage. Use other areas as well. If in the event you actually have a guest, you can quickly remove your storage and put it temporarily somewhere else. The attic is a storage space that somehow became neglected over the years. New homes with attics are not as accessible as they use to be and builders have made them smaller to cut down on building costs. But most houses still have storage space up there. It is just a matter of grabbing a ladder and climbing through a tight opening. It is a great storage space for building materials that you will never use again but are saving for some apparent reason. If you have leftover tile or other types of flooring materials from a recent project, store them up there instead of the garage. But if you do not like to climb ladders or crawl through tight storage spaces, then you need to keep searching for an alternative storage space.
Maybe the best option is to
rent a self storage unit for storage space. This may be the only option if you own or rent a condo or an apartment. Self storage units come in different sizes so you can customize your storage space to your storage needs. Climate control storage is another option. Here you can rent a storage space to preserve your personal storage and protect it from harsh climates. The idea of storage space at a self storage facility is to remove your overbearing clutter from your home to create more home storage space for your everyday items. However, be warned. It is very easy to grow into a self storage space. If you are not careful, you will be wondering where all of your storage came from.
