On the list of costly commodities you can easily accommodate one more thing without looking to find space and that is storage space . With the increase in population the shortage of many things is raising its head and living space is not spared either. So you are left with no chance but to resort to sending your loved articles outside your home to the self storing facilities. This means money and in the time of crisis this too is in short supply. So, what do you do but find some ways to get over such crises. And a way is to discover storing space in your own little house.

Like all great explorers who discovered new continents you too need to find out space in your home. So explore and find out the places which you never thought could have been used for storage space . You will have to create storing areas and carve out some more space form the existing living area without disturbing your daily life. An object that needs no money to buy and no space to store but can carve out a lot of space in your house is discipline. Do not pile up the articles in any place you find. Arrange it neatly and you will discover how much space is wasted for lack of arrangement. Make sure that this arrangement is not for a few hours or for a day and you will find that the space you generated is not vanishing even after constant use.

After that philosophical dissertation you must be thinking that it is a class of spiritual enlightment rather than tips on carving out storage space in your home. It is not. The next tips are overtly practical and that is, first decide which articles should be in which room. Remove all that is not needed and concentrate on the items that you will keep. Look for the possible storing places that you can find and this means looking everywhere, under, over, behind, beside, in, on, and every place that you can think of. Think beyond closets, cupboards and drawers and you will find that little memorabilia in a beautiful box can be easily kept under the table in the drawing room. It will add to the décor as well as keep your favorite memories near your hand to cherish at your vacant time.

Often the space above the cupboards goes empty with virtually no use. Find wall mounted shelves and you can easily mount them in this space and decorate it with the small decorative articles that would have either been thrown away or sent packing to any self storing facility. Covered shelves above the windows are good places for storing articles that are rarely needed. Open wall units also provide storage space for storing articles like books, CDs and DVDs, electronic gadgets, and other similar items. The thicknesses of such units are very small and they do not interfere with the living space. The bedside tables and other side tables can be put to storing use if they have closed bases and drawers for storing the small but important items.

Finding storage space is an art in itself and some people are artists. You will find that they have converted such places into storing places that you never ever dreamt of. With practice you too will learn how to do it. But if you still find that storing is getting difficult you can always fall back to the services of the self storing companies to help you out.
