It has been over a month since the holidays had ended and many families are dealing with more storage space problems then they ever had before. With more kid toys, clothes, games, books, and DVDs, people have more stuff than they know what to do with. Santa does not consider a families storage space concerns before he drops down the chimney to delivery a toy kitchen set. Now parents are tripping over little plastic cups and toy race cars because they do not know where to put it all.
Dads dream of turning the basement into a media room has suddenly disappeared. It is now a storage space painted in bright colors for the kids toy storage. Though, the kids playroom leaks all over the house. The toy storage space might start in the basement, but eventually it makes its way upstairs like it is some kind of entity. The toy storage grows at a faster rate then the children so it is time to go storage space shopping.
Most people will assume to just get rid of the toys that the kids hardly use, but that is easier said then done. There is the chance they will have more children one day so the toys become hand me downs. Toys not only have an emotional attachment to children, parents sometimes have trouble letting go of their kids favorite toys. So the storage space is taken over by neglected toys and the childrens current favorites cover the carpet. And some parents just are clueless about what to do with the old toys. They have this idea that they will give them to someone else one day, but they never do. And the trash is never under consideration.
Remember those old toy chests? Whatever happened to them? Well, they have been replaced by toy storage rooms. With the amount and size of toys kids get today, you would be lucky to fit a toy monster truck and a set of pick up sticks in there. Toys are bigger and come in huge quantities these days from grandparents, aunts, uncles, and of course, Santa. The main problem is that people do not know how to stop giving. They do not want to be the one who shows up at the birthday party with just a pack of gum. And there is the competition thing too. Every family member is fighting to be the favorite and they arm themselves with the biggest and the most gifts.
The best reason to rent a self storage unit is so you do not feel like your entire house is a playroom. By renting a storage unit you can take back your home and confine the kids most used toys into its storage space. Now adults can live how adults are supposed to and not feel like they are in a twenty four hour day care center. Other storage space areas can be reclaimed like the coat closet and the craft storage area.
We want our children to have the best childhood as possible, but that does not mean you have to sacrifice your home storage space. Search for a self storage unit in your area to create more storage space for you and your spouse.
