When most people think of shifting, the old cube filled with boxes and household furniture springs to mind. For good reason to, residential moves are the most common. It is estimated that the average North American makes a residential move at least three times in his or her adult lifetime. But in its popularity lies the problem. These days it seems that anybody with a big enough truck is a mover for hire. Advise your customers to enquire about any forms of accreditation such as a seal from the Better Business Bureau. Sometimes these are awarded for specific types of moving services , so a little research might be needed.

These companies usually charge from the time of arrival at the pick-up site to the end of the unloading phase at the drop off site. This should be settled upon beforehand, and clients should make sure that they fully prepared so they do not end up paying while the shifters wait for them to finish packing. As well, dismantling your own items such as bed frames will save the expense of having the shifters do it.
