A self storage service often overlooked is automobile storage.  It is no secret that Americans have a love affair with the automobile. People love cars so much that in many families there is a car for each family member of driving age and one or more to spare. Automobile storage would be very beneficial to a family when the owner of the car is incapacitated or in a long term rehabilitation or care center and there is not room for automobile storage at any relatives residence. Military personnel being deployed to combat often do not have a place to leave possessions or vehicles. It is often necessary for homeowners to rent automobile storage for recreational vehicles such as motorcycles, wave runners, boats or another vehicle that does not measure up to community standards. A current registration and road worthiness can qualify a motorcycle, wave runner or boat on a trailer for a car storage spot. Some facilities allow such automobile storage inside a unit others have car storage available as outside parking in a secure access controlled, well lighted lot. The family pickup truck does not have to be attractive to be placed in automobile storage as long as it has a current registration and is in running condition. The dent in the door and peeling paint are not an eyesore in automobile storage.

Sometimes is becomes necessary to place a vehicle in automobile storage to keep it out of the hands of drivers who have committed indiscretions. Car storage is an excellent place to put the car to insure that a young driver has no access to it. This can be a difficult situation and unpleasant however, car storage may be the best solution until the youthful offender learns to drive responsibly.
