Take away all items like food, furnishings, leisure items, sports items and any other essentials, which you use on board.

 

Along with cleaning up the machineries, clean the appliances like refrigerator, washing machines etc for your RV storage . The bathroom and the kitchen unit must be thoroughly cleaned, so that no pest or insects can infest the area. Use plenty of pest repellant material to save the units from tiny insects. Also to protect the indoor from the rodents, you can use rodent repellants or mouse traps. As the air inside the closed compartment will contain moisture, it is preferable to use dehumidifiers to safeguard the interior. It is better to keep ventilation, to prohibit building up of moisture.

 

Another important step to prepare for RV storage is to take off the batteries from the RV and keep them in a cool place. You must check the water level and charge of the batteries in a monthly basis. If required, you might have to recharge them. To fill in the water level of the cells use only distilled water. Never keep your battery outdoor, as this will damage the batteries forever. Do not keep your RV unattended for long duration. If you keep them under your supervision, time to time you must inspect the vehicle to find out the latest condition of the vehicle.
