The self storage business can be a profitable business. A well built, well presented facility in a good location should do well. However, the difference between doing well enough and doing very well can be very significant. How do you get beyond doing well and start doing very well? You do that by focusing on sales and marketing. Self storage used to be a property management game. It still is, but the last 10% of revenue and the real economic upside comes from the strategies and tactics I will outline for you in this book.
