A moving truck rental helps in shifting items from one place to another. Loading it is an art and should be done in a planned manner. First of all, one needs to pack all items that need to be transported and the order in which they have to be loaded into the truck need to be determined. All boxes that are of the same size should be loaded together. This will make loading, unloading and transportation of items a smooth and fast operation. The guidelines mentioned below will be helpful for a person who wants to load a transportation vehicle for shifting his goods to a new location.
While loading a transportation vehicle, the larger and heavier items should be loaded first. Household appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, washing machine, dishwasher etc. that are large and require more than one person to carry them comfortably are the ones that should be loaded into the moving truck rental first. These should be moved to the far end of the van near the cab so that they get better support. Heavy articles should be placed in an erect position and all of them should be evenly distributed in the van. Uneven distribution of heavy weights will make the van unstable which might put the vehicle into the risk of getting toppled over while on the run.
Furniture padding should be used to protect these appliances while being transported especially if there are wooden surfaces. Padding also helps in smoothly pushing large and heavy articles to the farther end of the van.
The moving truck rental should be loaded with long articles next. These include box springs, long mirrors, table-tops, sofas and other items. These articles should be cleaned against the longest walls of the van for better support. They should be made to stand upright. This will help in balancing and will also save up on a lot of area on the van which can be utilized for storing more items. Mattresses and beds should be covered for protection against wear and tear.
While packing furniture for loading it is always better to disassemble the furniture into component parts to get extra place to load more items. In the moving truck rental the dismantled pieces of furniture should be taped and put together. Carpets can be rolled up and taped and placed on the floor of the van. Long items such as ski boards and poles can also be dismantled if possible.
After packing appliances and furniture, boxes should be loaded. The heaviest boxes should be first ones to be loaded. They should be placed on top of the heavy appliances and furniture and any enclosed spaces at the bottom should be filled up with boxes or any other items. After that the lighter boxes should be placed on the heavier boxes. Always care should be taken that heavier boxes are stacked below the lighter boxes.
The moving truck rental should be loaded with miscellaneous and fragile items the last. These items should form the topmost layer of the loaded articles and they should be tightly fastened to the heavy items below so that they do not fall off during the transit.
It is always better to hire a van that has a capacity to hold ten to fifteen percent more items than the total number of items loaded in it. More room in the van is preferable to less room which will result in the items getting crammed up in it.
